Cultural services accessible to all

The Culture for All website is intended to give guidance and inspiration for achieving greater accessibility. It contains examples and tips on improving the accessibility of cultural sites and services. The Culture for All Internet site is primarily intended for workers in the culture sector.

The website is maintained by the Community Relations and Development Department KEHYS/Finnish National Gallery. The Cultural Diversity Project coordinated by the Finnish National Gallery is also run under KEHYS.

It is supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education, the Nordic Council of Ministers´ Museum Committee and the Nordic Culture Fund.

Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month: October 2008

Art Beyond Sight Collaborative invites cultural organizations to join Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month: October 2008, an international initiative to call public attention to the need for and benefits of making art and visual culture accessible to people with vision loss and other disabilities.

A New Accessibility Vocabulary Published

A new accessibility vocabulary has been published by the Helsinki for All Project. The vocabulary is in Finnish, Swedish and English. It includes 500 accessibility terms and general words connected to street and park areas.

The mailing list of the Culture for All Service is meant for all those with an interest in accessibility issues. The languages used in the list are all the Nordic languages and English.
